This section needs more love so I'm going to throw my analisis in J.
Strong HP - I see he doesn't take much damage from hits.
Long combos - I notice enemies get a lot of hit stun from his plain attacks, that gives chance for the logest combos possible in the game with this character to compensate his lack of AoE.
Secondary Effects - I notice some of his attack inflict a secondary effect I can't really tell if it's fear or just stun or confusion.
Huge coop potential - As seen in the bits of the gameplay J has a lot of stun and long combos, and he can easily follow's Yuri's and Seha's combo finishers.
Maybe J will be like Tude from Rusty Hearts, a bit unneccessary and too strong at the start to be needed and lacks AoE but he will be needed in the "hardcore modes later on" for coop gameplay.

If he can't do AOE then he should be strong 1v1 to make up for it.
